Session: Can Broccoli Make You Beautiful?

Our skin is as important an organ as the rest of the body. Daily care through food choices as well as eliminating skin stressors may help us to age better outside as well as inside.

Antioxidants, essential fatty acids, adequate hydration, and phytonutrients should be part of your daily eating regime to nourish your skin from within.

Bio: Leslie J. Bonci , MPH,RD,CSSD, LDN, is the director of sports medicine nutrition for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Center for Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

She serves as the sports dietitian for the University of Pittsburgh’s department of athletics, and is a nutrition consultant for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh
Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays and the Washington Nationals.

In addition, she is the company nutritionist for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She was served as the sports dietitian for Team REFUEL for the 2013 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

She is the author of the American Dietetic Association Guide to Better Digestion and Sport Nutrition for Coaches. She is the co-author of Run Your Butt Off ( 2012),

While many folk over cook the broccoli, drinking it provides more vitamins, antioxidants  as well as minerals.

Juice from raw broccoli preserves all the health values. Broccoli juice offers the body many benefit. The calcium found in broccoli helps the bones. While high in antioxidants broccoli juice also contains lutein  and this helps  age related degeneration of the eyesight. This may be macular degeneration.  If the wonder broccoli juice is mixed with carrot juice, together they offer better support for eyesight. It is also good for the digestion. Some folks drink broccoli juice hoping it will help prevent the onset of heart disease or cancer.
